The Hohensalzburg Fortress is perched high on the fortress hill above the roofs of the baroque old town. By the way, at certain times you can get free guided tours through the outer arena as well as through the courtyards of the fortress.

Mirabell Palace & Mirabell gardens
Hardly any place in Salzburg is more famous than the beautiful garden of Mirabell Palace with an unobstructed view of Hohensalzburg Fortress. This is where the most beautiful souvenir photos are taken against the magnificent backdrop of Salzburg’s old town. Especially the Mirabell garden with many roses and fountains in front of the backdrop of the fortress offers an enchanting atmosphere.
Culinary Art Aviation
Hangar-7 at Salzburg Airport is a unique architectural work of art and home to a large collection of historic Flying Bulls aircraft. From the very first thought, the hangar was more than “just” a modern aircraft hangar. The developers’ vision was to create a place where technology, art and entertainment meet. The building is characterized by its unique steel and glass construction, whose 1,754 glass panels vary in size.

Museum of Modern Art
The Museum der Moderne in Salzburg is divided into two locations – up on the Mönchsberg you can check out the newest location. On four floors, as in the other museum, mainly graphics and photography from the 19th and 20th centuries to the present await you. In the old town, the museum’s main building awaits you – the Rupertinum, which has been around since 1983.

Mönchsberg
Yes, you see right: what a viewpoint! From the Mönchsberg you have a wonderful panoramic view of Salzburg including the fortress. What makes the Mönchsberg special is its convenient access: with the Mönchsberg lift, you can reach the viewing terrace at the summit in just a few seconds. The Museum of Modern Art is also located up here.

Sun you on the banks of the salzach
Would you like to sit on the right bank of the Salzach with an ice cream or a beer and enjoy the sun? – Then you’ve come to the right place. The best place to do this is between Marko-Feingold-Steg and Müllner-Steg, where you’ll find a beautiful green lawn and a small pebble beach where you can cool your feet in the water. Tip: You can borrow picnic blankets at Cocoon Salzburg. Afterwards, you can take a detour to the Marko Feingold Bridge, from where you have one of the best views of Salzburg and the Salzach River.
