Sustainability is a continuous process. A year ago, we received Green Sign Level 4 certification – a milestone that we are actively expanding with environmentally friendly measures. Today, we are proud of our progress.

100 % renewable energy & photovoltaics

All our hotels are now supplied with green electricity, including Salzburg. In addition, our new photovoltaic system on the roofs of the Cocoon Sendlinger Tor has been supplying green electricity directly from the roof since February 2025.

Sustainable enjoyment & responsible decisions

With J.J. Darboven, we are committed to sustainable coffee: every kilo sold means a newly planted shade tree. Every kilo of Especial Bio Cafe Creme and Espresso Intensivo means a shade tree planted. Darboven launched the shade tree project in 2023: Together with Fairtrade and five coffee cooperatives, they plant trees that provide shade and have positive effects on the climate, biodiversity and the coffee plants. Our breakfast has also become more environmentally friendly – we only use organic eggs from species-appropriate husbandry.

Our commitment to inclusion

Diversity is one of our core corporate values – which is why we are actively committed to greater inclusion in our company. The starting signal for this was given at the inclusive job fair Meet & Match, where we not only gained valuable insights, but also found a successful match straight away. A new intern has been supporting us in the reservations department in Salzburg for a fortnight now. She is blind and brings a very special perspective to our team: Thanks to her keen perception of rooms, she can ‘feel’ our rooms in a completely new way and therefore also sell them differently. This not only enriches our team, but also creates real added value for our guests. We are proud of this step and would like to do even more to promote an inclusive working environment in the future – because diversity enriches us all

Sustainability in everyday working life

We want sustainability to not only remain a corporate value, but to be actively practised by all employees. This is why we have introduced sustainability training and developed a digital employee information folder with an instruction platform. We also promote personal development and a culture of courage through AETHER coaching sessions.

Shared responsibility: Isar Clean Up & waste separation

Responsibility starts on your own doorstep. With our Isar Clean Up team event, we set an example for environmental awareness and actively contributed to the cleanliness of our beautiful nature. We have also started a test phase for waste separation in our hotel rooms in order to further increase the recycling rate.
