If it says organic on it, it should be organic in it! The BioBurgerMeister has also had this demonstrably sealed. The friendly little store in Linzergasse is a triple-certified organic farm and sources its meat and vegetables from the surrounding region.

Bärenwirt
One of the oldest inns in Salzburg is located on Müllner Hügel. The Bärenwirt, where hospitality has been lived since 1663. The Bärenwirt tradition of great dumplings continues here, and the fried chicken couldn’t be juicier. In addition, there are rustic dishes and typical Austrian home cooking, from beef goulash to Kasnocken and Bauernschmaus.

Oldest restaurant in Europe
The St. Peter Stiftskulinarium is a 1-hood restaurant in the old town of Salzburg. The restaurant has been documented since the year 803 and is said to be the oldest restaurant in Central Europe. The cuisine is upscale with regional specialties such as Tafelspitz and Salzburger Nockerln. In cooperation with the Salzburg Concert Society, the restaurant hosts the Mozart Dinner Concert several times a week. A menu accompanied by a concert featuring the instruments and clothing of Mozart’s time.

Austria’s largest beer inn
Beer has been brewed in the Mülln district at the foot of the Mönchsberg since 1621, and it is also the largest beer tavern in Austria. In the Augustiner Bräu Kloster Mülln, the beer is served directly from wooden barrels in stone mugs and the matching food can be found in the various stalls of the “Schmankerlgang”, which are arranged in the style of a traditional market hall.

Eis Greissler
It can get really hot in Salzburg in the summer, and a cool remedy is to enjoy lots of ice cream. At Eis Greissler, only organic milk from their own dairy is used in production, as well as freshly harvested herbs and high-quality spices from Sonnentor. There are also plenty of vegan alternatives (not just fruit sorbets), so there’s something for everyone.
